Where it all began...
From the director
'With property developers as parents, I spent most of my childhood running around dilapidated houses playing hide and seek with my brother. I always found it fascinating to watch a house transform from a ruin to a masterpiece; it was here my love of property was born. It was when I went to university that I became interested in the property rental business. In my second year I moved from my student halls to my first student home. I found the whole process of renting complicated and it was annoying having to deal with so many different estate agents every step of the way. It seemed any and every issue had to be passed to another person from another department.
Six months into my second year at university I began working for a family run estate agents which I thoroughly enjoyed. I managed the student lettings business and I figured out ways to make the whole situation less painful for landlords and tenants. For example, I created my own inventory and check-out service for all of the student properties, firstly to cut costs for the landlord and secondly to cut out the middle man so any disputes when dealing with deposits, move in and move out were rectified far more quickly and easily. I left this estate agents to do some travelling and on my return I was headhunted by another estate agents in Virginia Water and offered the role of Head of Property Management and Finance. It was here that I gained most experience in how to to run a small business. I found out how important it was to have that personal touch with clients, and just how much clients appreciate a trusting relationship with someone who is managing their assets.'
